I think the timing was perfect in terms of light...

This is an amazing and unique photograph capturing a wild animal in a natural pose against the clean, crisp background of Winter. The deep black of the chickadee’s body stands out amazingly from the blurred blue-and-white scenery, detailed and perfect. Though the bird is sitting still, the picture portrays the grace and swiftness in its form. The seed in its beak as well as the scattered shells make it seem at ease, while the dark shadows on the snow produce dynamism which gives the whole picture an air of power and majesty.

As for the ball, it’s amazing how starkly clear everything is within it when the background is so hazy and indistinguishable. This shot has transformed it into a soothsayer’s crystal ball, through which the future can be seen.

To make sure that the chickadee and the ball do not vie for primacy in the onlooker's eye, a better angle might have been to position the camera slightly more towards the chickadee's side. That way you can see both objects, but the camera isn't centered on them both. This would also give the appearance of the chickadee looking into the ball...perhaps to tell a propechy.

you must have waited forever to get a shot like this O.o

Very nice though. Great angle, although the composition could be a little better (it seems almost too symmetrical in terms of where the bird and ball are.)
But really, keep it up. This is an amazing photograph!
