Artist's Comments
Sometime when I look at my paintings I feel very calm and appraised... The source of that is green I guess..I like the greenery in general
This is an acrylic on canvas, 22"X28", (2007) As some of you noticed, I am a fan of Hundertwasser, and this painting is a step towards on the same direction he chose.. Commentsdude i love your paintings

The amazing use of color is what strikes you first here. Masterful, something to really admire. And to me the warmth of the green even surpasses the "Hundertwasser green". And the yellow, so strong I swear I can smell it's scent from here. But it's not only that, it's the perfectly balanced ratio of the colors used that makes this a stoically calming piece. One just cannot fail to see/feel that here, consciously or subconsciously.
As for the brush strokes, they come from the heart, another thing to admire. Many artists tend to "drown" their hand-as-a-heart's-extension expression by overworking it too much. This sky is in motion, it BREATHS freely, the tree-house breaths with it in harmony, the slight rightward tilt of the land adds to that cozy overall motion, all of that making the painting ALIVE and MOVING. It also gives the viewer a feeling he is stepping on the first step, following the character in front (who is also portrayed slightly leaned to the right, like he's just about to lift his left leg and step up).
And of course, the title fits like a glove. This is Nestor's "Home Sweet Home" without doubt. I have the urge to walk into the painting and join the little red character for a cup of afternoon tea.
Vision (5) Home sweet home in it's finest.
Originality (5) Perhaps someone somewhere sometime did something similar, I must say I haven't seen anything like it though. There is nothing else that comes to my mind when looking at this, no other work it reminds me of. Yes, "home sweet home" may not be a revolutionary subject generally, but the way it is presented here is definitely fresh and it's originality is unquestioned.
Technique (5) Brilliant!
Impact (5) Strong. Very strong. As I said, what better impact could it have than inviting you to walk right into it, smiling.
